ATB – Distant Earth

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Check out ATB’s new album, Disntant Earth! Featuring Christina Soto, Melissa Loretta & Kate Louise Smith.

With seven quality studio albums, a Best-Of CD and DVD, seven mixed compilations and multiple hit singles, André Tanneberger, a.k.a. ATB has a remarkable, constantly successful record as a musician and DJ to show for himself. One of the keys to his success has definitely been the high standard he sets himself in his approach to his productions and songwriting.

On his new album, Disntant Earth, ATB impresses with fantastic new songs that not only cross the line between pop and dance music, but literally transcend that distinction. For this record he has worked with a number of artists, amongst them the brilliant Rea Garvey – lead vocalist of no other band than the chart-topping Reamonn. Along with the album, containing loads of potential hit singles, comes a second, much calmer disc – underlining the artistic complexity of ATB. –Amazon

MORE ABOUT THE UNDERLIVING:

You are soon going to discover the realm of The Underliving, a shadow of our own, a world of “beings” that never lived but feel very alive and communicate with us through the silence, through our thoughts, through the voice of the wind, that fill with their presence empty spaces, that lives side by side with us, but always veiled and unseen, sometimes protecting us or sometimes misleading us. The Underliving along with “ghosts” and “fairies” are the third kind of creature portrayed in “Yidneth” mythic background. The album portrays the story of a chosen child that can perceive this “Otherworld” and longs to be part of it.

Leaves Eyes – Meredead

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

Check out the new album by Leaves Eyes, Meredead, available as a regular CD release or Limited Edition packaging!

Leaves’ Eyes: Unmistakably different.. With their fourth album, Meredead, the 4-nation formation unleashes a tidal wave that will leave the music world breathless. More than ever before, folk instrumentation refines the album’s varied sound. A highlight is the new interpretation of Mike Oldfield’s “To France”. With the band’s strength and courage, as well as an unorthodox variety, Leaves’ Eyes has unequivocally reinvented itself. For fans of Lacuna Coil, Evanescence.

Jakki Jelene – Deep Blue Sea

Monday, September 12th, 2011

New single by Jakki Jelene, Deep Blue Sea, an infectious, upbeat, ambient house track that captures the spirit of adventure on the high seas. Available to download FREE for a limited time!

Deep Blue Sea
Lyrics by Jakki Jelene

We intend to go
We intend to see
Places in our dreams
Where we long to be

It seems so out of touch
To those who have no vision
But nothing’s what it seems
There’s no certainty

Sailing high on white capped waves
Above the salty brine
We’re traveling upon the deep blue sea
Deep blue sea
Deep blue sea

We’ll close our eyes tonight
And leave behind reality
Like wings we’re taking flight
To another world

A land yet unexplored
That no one can imagine
But when we come ashore
We will surely see

Sailing high on white capped waves
Above the salty brine
We’re traveling upon the deep blue sea
Deep blue sea
Deep blue sea

Autumn’s Grey Solace – Eifelian

Friday, September 9th, 2011

Autumn’s Grey Solace released their new album Eifelian this year!

The continuing efforts of Autumn’s Grey Solace over the years have involved steady progression into a sound of their own within a larger style in turn. The duo’s roots in the music of acts like the Cocteau Twins, Love Spirals Downwards, and other atmospheric rock partnerships remain constant; where the combined strength of Erin Welton’s voice and Scott Ferrell’s music lies best is in exploring the pair’s intersections. Thematically, Eifelian draws its name as well as its song titles from the pre-human history of the planet — an ambitious range to say the least, from “Archean Earth” and “Faint Young Sun” to “Holocene” and “Fauna.”

The close, intimate flow of the album’s 14 songs suggests less of a direct evocation of that crush of time as it does a dreamy reflection on time and timelessness. From the start, Welton’s heavily treated vocal sighs and Ferrell’s acoustic/electric arrangements of classic gauzy shimmer never fully reinvent the form but elegantly explore it, a near hour’s worth of enjoyably melancholic contemplations for late summer afternoons. –AllMusic
